The commercial districts office in Mt. Lebanon plays a vital role in supporting the growth and success of the community’s three primary business districts: Beverly Road, Castle Shannon Boulevard and Washington Road. In collaboration with local business and professional associations, the office fosters an environment where businesses can thrive and connect with residents.
Focused on attracting and retaining a diverse range of retail stores, restaurants and professional offices, the office also aids the business community by coordinating promotions, events and initiatives designed to draw customers and encourage local engagement.
NEW Planning for Activate Uptown, on Washington Road, is expected to wrap up by June. The project focuses on placemaking, an urban design approach that creates vibrant, people-centered public spaces to foster community and identity.
As part of Activate Uptown, the Uptown Facade Grant Program will launch this spring to enhance the exterior appearance of the buildings along Washington Road. The Mt. Lebanon Partnership will administer the program with funding from the municipality.
The annual Washington Road summer street parties are getting a refresh. The events, which feature a free concert in Clearview Common, will be on the last Fridays of June, July and August. Look for more details in upcoming issues.
NOTEWORTHY The Corridor of Light, an exciting new public art project being developed as a joint effort between the municipality and Mt. Lebanon Partnership, will kick off this year. The Corridor of Light is a series of LED projectors strategically placed throughout the Uptown corridor, creating a stunning display of ever-changing imagery on the sidewalk.

As these new ventures open their doors, we encourage residents to show their support by shopping locally, dining at neighborhood restaurants and engaging with the diverse mix of professional services available.
