
The Indiana University of Pennsylvania has selected Dr. Kimberly Bender Steinhauer, a 1985 music education graduate, to receive its 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award.
Steinhauer, Main Line, is the founder, owner and president of Estill Voice International. She served as interim head of voice and adjunct voice faculty for the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University, was an adjunct assistant professor for the Department of Speech Language Pathology for Duquesne University and an adjunct assistant professor of communication science and disorders for the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences for the University of Pittsburgh.
She is an adjudicator for the Pittsburgh CLO Gene Kelly Scholarship Award, a member of the poster contest committee for the Voice Foundation Symposium, and is a soloist for Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church.
Steinhauer’s articles on the voice have been published in many professional journals, she has been part of several research grants, and has been an invited presenter for regional, national, and international conferences and meetings.
In addition to her IUP degree, Steinhauer holds a master’s degree in speech communication from Penn State University and a doctorate in communication science and disorders from the University of Pittsburgh.
