The Mt. Lebanon Fire Department’s state-of-the-art training facility solves a lot of scheduling problems, and not just for our department. South Hills firefighters now have an alternative to competing for time at one of the two local fire academies, in North Park and in Washington County. The primary intent of the fire training facility is not live-fire training, but skill review and enhancement, with the department scheduling just two or three live burns a year.
At the facility’s latest live burn, Mt. Lebanon invited firefighters from several communities, including Bethel Park, South Fayette, Whitehall, Elizabeth and Green Tree. Check out images from the latest gathering, taken by photographer Ken Lager.
