Between Two Worlds: The Journey of Dorit Sasson
7 pm, Thursday, November 8
Native New Yorker Dorit Sasson dropped out of college and volunteered for the Israel Defense Forces. Disillusioned by the degree of economic depression and social change following the second Israel-Lebanon War, she convinced her husband to return with her to the United States, but when she arrived, the United States was not what it seemed—or perhaps she had changed in ways she didn’t yet realize. Sasson is the author of the award-winning Accidental Soldier: A Memoir of Service and Sacrifice in the Israel Defense Forces, which will be available for purchase at the event for $15.
