J.Jones Evening Wear opening in December

J.Jones Evening Wear, a well-known formalwear destination in Weirton, West Virginia, is preparing to open a new boutique in Uptown Mt. Lebanon in early December. Owner Jill Jones said the 660 Washington Road shop will offer an elevated, boutique-style experience focused on dresses for prom, homecoming, pageants, social occasions and tuxedo styling.

“This will be the boutique version of J.Jones,” Jones said. “The store is almost all black — gorgeous, very high end, luxe finishes. I think the South Hills customer is going to love it and appreciate it.”

The Mt. Lebanon location will not carry bridal gowns. Jones said the shop will stock sizes triple-zero through 34 with top labels including Jovani, Tarik Ediz, Ashley Loren, Ava Presley and Rachel Allan.

The boutique will also feature the store’s private J.Jones label, a collection of exclusive designs produced directly through partner factories. “No one else has them except for our store,” Jones said. “It’s a huge advantage.”

Jones, who grew up in South Park and has been in the industry since the age of 16, said expanding to Mt. Lebanon felt like the right next step. “I couldn’t wait to open a store back in the South Hills.”

The Uptown store is expected to open the first week of December. Planned hours are Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 or 6 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Walk-ins will be welcome for prom and homecoming, but appointments are encouraged for mothers of brides/grooms, social occasions, pageants and tuxedos.
