Erik Schmidt holds many roles: improv comedian, musician, photographer and Mt. Lebanon’s newest graphic designer.
Schmidt earned his BFA in 2021 from Robert Morris University, with a major in graphic design and minor in photography. He worked for Pittsburgh Public Theater, Dick’s Sporting Goods and other organizations prior to joining Mt. Lebanon.

A musician since his teenage years, he plays guitar and piano, with a penchant for old rock and folk music. After graduating from college, he became involved in local improv comedy teams and classes as a way to get out of his comfort zone and explore a new hobby. “You’re very vulnerable [on stage]. I feel lucky to be in a space where others can find escape from the day-to-day,” he said.
Schmidt is a Peters Township native, where he currently lives with his 5-year-old German Shepherd Dog, JoJo.
He’s excited to work in community-oriented role and “looking forward to working for a cause bigger than myself.” In his role, Schmidt will create digital and print designs for the municipality, including layouts for Mt. Lebanon Magazine.
