As the school year comes to a close, it’s the perfect time to celebrate the incredible achievements of our Mt. Lebanon School District students. From success in the classroom, on the stage and across every field of activity, watching our students grow always brings great pride to our administration and staff. I wish the Class of 2025 all the best as they take the next bold steps toward their future. Your journey is just beginning, and we can’t wait to see where it leads!
Reflecting on this year, a personal highlight was coming together with our community to shape something truly meaningful, our 2025-2031 Strategic Plan. This collaborative effort reflects our shared vision and sets the course for an exciting and inspiring future for
our community.
Throughout this past school year, we listened and learned from thousands of voices through surveys and focus groups. Your insights helped shape a plan that reflects our shared values, aspirations and unwavering commitment to educational excellence. I want to thank everyone who contributed ideas and energy to the strategic planning process. Together, we’ve created a roadmap that positions our district to lead with purpose and pride.
In May, we introduced our plan with the theme, “Leading The Way,” a future-focused vision built in partnership with feedback from our staff, students, parents/guardians, and community.
At the heart of this plan is our belief that we must lead for the future by inspiring and empowering students. Our strategic plan focuses on five key areas — each represented in our LEADS acronym:
L – Leading for the Future
E – Engagement
A – Academics
D – District Supports
S – Safe, Supported, and Included
Lebo LEADS captures the momentum of our district and our commitment to continuous improvement. At the June 16 meeting, the MTLSD Board of School Directors voted to approve the final plan following a review of community feedback and stakeholder input. Our website has information documenting the entire process utilized to create this new plan. As we move forward, we’ll remain focused on measurable goals, transparent communication and shared accountability to ensure this plan makes a lasting difference.
