Streets Under the Knife

Mt. Lebanon’s 2021 street reconstruction and repair season is underway. The municipality awarded a bid of $2.13 million to Niando Construction for reconstruction of parts of 10 streets and drainage improvements to four others. Funding for the project comes from Mt. Lebanon’s Capital Improvements Budget ($1,394,299), the sanitary fund ($17,380) and the stormwater fund ($516,075 for curb replacement and $202,365 for other stormwater improvements).

Streets selected for reconstruction are:

Corace Drive. North of Bower Hill Road to cul-de-sac

Helen Drive  Theodan Drive to Holly Lane

Hemlock Street  Jefferson Drive to Hazel Drive, and Lemoyne
Avenue to Castle Shannon Boulevard

Hilf Street  Castle Shannon Boulevard to Pennsylvania
Boulevard

Magnolia Place  Mabrick Avenue to Savannah Avenue

Oak Way  Clokey Avenue to Coolidge Avenue

Pat Haven Drive  Bower Hill Road to Sandrae Drive

Ridgefield Avenue  Kenforest Drive to Morrison Drive

Robb Hollow Road  Driftwood Drive to Craigview Drive

Rocklynn Place  30 Rocklynn Place to Rock Haven Lane

Drainage improvements are slated for Corace Drive, Magnolia Place, Rocklynn Place and Park Entrance Drive.

Several other streets will be included on the street maintenance list. Street maintenance involves roto-milling existing pavement and resurfacing with bituminous material. The maintenance contract, at a total cost of $404,267, was awarded to A. Liberoni, Inc., for the following streets:
