SNOW SEASON For seniors and others who may have trouble keeping their sidewalks clear, the municipality has a program called Snow Angels, matching volunteer snow shovelers with residents who need to have the sidewalks in front of their homes cleared. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old, or be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and must commit to taking at least one household for the winter. Volunteers must bring their own equipment.

The municipality is not responsible for providing the service, but will act as a clearinghouse, matching volunteers with residents.

You can find out more information on the program in the “What’s Trending” section of mtlebanon.org [1], or by calling 412-343-7032.

CHRISTMAS TREE PICKUP Mt. Lebanon will be collecting Christmas trees the weeks of January 5 and 12. Trees will be picked up on the day before scheduled trash collection. If your trash day is Monday, your tree will be collected at the end of the week on Friday, January 9 and 16. Have your tree at the curb the night before collection. Because the trees are going straight into the chipper, they need to be stripped of all lights, tinsel and other decorations, and cannot be in plastic bags. You can also put your tree out with your trash for regular pickup.

CHRISTMAS LIGHT RECYCLING Drop off your unwanted Christmas lights at the Mt. Lebanon Municipal Building, 710 Washington Road, between 8:30 and 5, through January 31. Michael Brothers will recycle the lights and donate the proceeds to Project Bundle Up.
