I think you’re going to like this place.
Based on the 214 likes on our Facebook page when we posted pictures from last night’s media preview, BRGR in The Galleria is going to be doing a pretty brisk trade. On Tuesday, November 18, you can see for yourself.
This is the fourth BRGR (they like you to pronounce it “be-ar-gee-ar”), part of the S&P Restaurant Group, which also owns Grit & Grace, Spoon and Willow. The flagship restaurant is in East Liberty, and other locations are in Cranberry and at PNC Park. BRGR also has a food truck.
BRGR occupies the space that most recently housed Dragonfire, but if you remember dining there, you may have trouble recognizing the place. BRGR has a lighter, airier look, and barn wood trucked in from North Carolina gives it a comfortable, rustic feel.
There is seating for about 150 people indoors, plus a few more at the bar, and when the weather breaks, another hundred or so out on the patio. A section of the dining area can be screened off for private parties. Instead of waiting in long lines, you can shop in The Galleria and the staff will text you when your table is ready.
The menu for the Galleria BRGR will be very similar to the one at the Cranberry location. A signature mix of Angus chuck, sirloin, New York Strip and ribeye make up each burger, but there is much more than beef on the menu. Turkey, salmon, a mahi/shrimp burger, falafel/black bean/roasted corn, bison and chicken can also take a place inside the bun—or on top of a salad.
Handcrafted milk shakes, with or without alcohol, and baked cupcake shakes can supply any of the calories you forgot to include with the meal.
Hours are Monday through Friday 11:30 to 11; Friday and Saturday, 11:30 to 1 a.m. and Sunday 11:30 to 9. The kitchen closes an hour before the restaurant.
