Meet your Municipality — Editor’s Note
Welcome to this special issue of Mt. Lebanon Magazine. Every other year, our May issue is dedicated to your municipality, to introduce you to many of the services and facilities your tax dollars provide and to make sure you get the most out of living or working here. The Municipal Resource Guide starts on page 26, where you’ll find contact information for the employees charged with running each department or municipal office, as well as information about what is new or notable this year.
This issue also includes our Popular Annual Financial Report. It’s not POPULAR, like Glinda would sing — although we would be happy if you and your cohorts are loving it — It’s popular because anyone can read it without having an advanced finance degree. Although we are required to produce this report each year, we would do it anyway. It’s important for all taxpayers to see how their money was spent and how important decisions were made the previous year.
As you leaf through the pages, I hope you’ll get ideas for things you can do on our (relatively) new website, mtlebanon.org, from purchasing a pool pass to signing up for overnight parking if your out-of-town family will be in for a visit. We also have lots of breaking Mt. Lebanon news on our magazine website, at lebomag.com. We even feature more photos and sometimes video in the stories you read in Mt. Lebanon Magazine.
This issue is also chock full of amazing advertisers who continue to support local journalism. Many of our advertisers have been with us for decades and have created long-term relationships with their clients who live here. Thank you so much to each of our advertisers for making Mt. Lebanon part of their marketing plans. Please continue to support them and mention you saw their ad here to let them know the value of appearing in Mt. Lebanon Magazine.
The rest of this magazine is filled with other important information, too, including things you can check out at the Mt. Lebanon Public Library, new businesses opening their doors and even a fantastic new crossword puzzle to bend your brain.
Thanks for picking up this issue. Please let me know what you’d like to read about in the months ahead. We would love to hear your ideas.
