Way Back: Memorial Day

A black and white image of a parade on Washington Road.

The South Hills Memorial Day Association has hosted a parade since 1934. In this picture, the Mt. Lebanon Boy Scout Troop (to which twins Richard Pierce Duchene and Joseph Austin Duchene belonged) heads down Washington Road and prepares to make the turn into Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Pendale Nursery, now an apartment building, is the white building at left. (Courtesy Jay Duchene)

Way Back is a new look at Mt. Lebanon history in every Mt. Lebanon Magazine, with photos from our archives and from the Historical Society of Mount Lebanon.
