LiveWell helps people live well

After more than two decades helping people understand how health behaviors shape their lives, Dr. Amy Sidwell has opened LiveWell Health Specialists at 650 Washington Road, a health coaching practice devoted to helping individuals and families turn healthy intentions into lasting habits.
“This community really values wellness — you can see people walking every day,” said Sidwell, a Seminole Hills resident. “It was important to me to find a place where people felt as strongly about keeping well as I do.”
Sidwell said her decision to launch LiveWell stemmed from her 25-year career in health, wellness and education. Before moving to Mt. Lebanon in 2021, she served as program director at West Virginia University’s Office of Health Promotion and Wellness and as a tenured faculty member at Fairmont State University.
LiveWell Health Specialists offers nutrition counseling, physical activity planning, stress management and wellness coaching for teens and families. While most coaching is delivered virtually for convenience, Sidwell plans to host in-person workshops in Mt. Lebanon and Bethel Park.
Sidwell said the practice’s philosophy centers on closing the gap between what people know about health and how they act on it.
“People are incredibly knowledgeable. They read, they research, but how do they take that information and make it actionable?” she said. “My role is to help people create holistic, realistic plans that fit their real, often busy, lives.”
A Master Certified Health Education Specialist, Sidwell draws heavily on behavioral science in her coaching. “It’s the key to what I do,” she said. “Understanding research best practices and applying evidence-based strategies ensures that clients are supported in ways that truly work.”
Sidwell’s short-term goal is to provide individualized, client-focused coaching in the South Hills. Long term, she hopes to expand LiveWell’s reach beyond Allegheny County to communities across western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
“I want people to evaluate their own strengths and know that health coaching can provide the tools and support to help them reach their goals.”
