ULTRAparty was ULTRAfun
On a gorgeous August Saturday night, thousands gathered Uptown on Washington Road to celebrate ULTRAparty, and in the process, raised $16,500 for the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation. Presented by the Mt. Lebanon Partnership, ULTRAparty’s sixth annual event, featured the music of State College band Velveeta, who played everything from Van Halen to Bon Jovi (the closing number). Organizers sold nearly 2,000 wristbands, although the crowd estimates were as high as 3,000 people.
The party kicked off with FamilyFEST, a free event in Clearview Common, where kids got to play hockey against Iceburgh — and may we say, as a goalie, he’s a very good mascot.
