Martha’s Run is not for the weak: it’s 6.2 miles up the hills of Mt. Lebanon. Proceeds from the walk and run benefit the Martha Fund, a charity that builds playgrounds for kids in memory of FBI agent and Mt. Lebanon native Martha Dixon, who died in the line of duty. Register for this year’s race, which is on April 14, at marthadixon.org. If 6.2’s a little much for you, try the 2 Mile Fun Run, or walk. Or give some coin to the Lebo Class of ‘77—the group is raising money in memory to donate to the charities that honor their classmates, Dixon and Terry Mulkeen, a Navy pilot who was killed on a training mission in 1991 and is memorialized by a scholarship.
