Mt. Lebanon will once again celebrate the snow and chill at Winterfest, planned this year for Uptown on February 23 from noon to 3 p.m. Commercial districts manager Eric Milliron says last year’s signature chili cookoff will return, with more than a dozen participating restaurants, along with a grudge chili competition rematch between the Mt. Lebanon police and fire departments (the fire department won last year so the pressure’s on for the police). Beer will be available for people 21 or older and Milliron promises lots of outdoor games and music. Tickets are $10 in advance and are available at the Customer Service Center in the municipal building, weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets will be $15 at the gate. Proceeds benefit Relay for Life of Mt. Lebanon. Last year’s event sold out. Get your tickets now or risk being left in the cold. Sorry. We couldn’t get through that without at least one.
