Finger Knitting for Kids
Tuesday, April 7, 4 p.m.
Learn to make a slip knot, cast on, and create a simple stocking stitch with just your fingers and some yarn. For kids in second through fifth grades.
Registration required. Materials will be provided.
Author Talk
Monday, April 20, 4 p.m.
Meet the authors of Snoopers & Sneakers, with special guest, Goose the therapy cat. In honor of Autism Awareness Month, middle school grade authors Cristina Rouvalis and Lydia Wayman will be visiting the library. Join them for a short reading, talk about autism and writing, and time for questions. This sensory-friendly event is open to all ages. Signed copies will be available for purchase.
Girls Night Out Book Club
Wednesday, April 22, 7 p.m.
Read a variety of great books with your daughter, then share your thoughts and ideas in a nurturing environment. Watch your daughter grow as a reader and communicator while having fun in this lively discussion group. For girls age 10-13 and their moms.
Registration for all clubs occurs when the book is checked out. Book club books are available at the Children’s Desk one month prior to the meeting date.
Circle Weaving for Kids
Tuesday, April 28, 4 p.m.
This class is a great entry level point for children to learn to weave using paper plates, cups and simple looms. For kids in second through fifth grades.

Board Game Night
Tuesdays in April, 7 p.m.
A night of strategy and competition playing Euro-style board games. All experience levels are welcome and games will vary every week depending on attendees’ interests. Feel free to bring your own games or just come to learn something new. Here are some examples of what may be available:

For teens and adults. Spanish speakers of all levels are invited to this monthly group to practice their Spanish in an informal, fun environment. No registration required.

Orchid Growing Basics
Tuesday, April 7, 10 a.m.
Sheila Nathanson, former president of the Orchid Society of Western Pennsylvania, will discuss the basics of growing orchids. Nathanson is a longtime orchid hobbyist and has multiple awards from the American Orchid Society. After a brief introduction, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions in a judgement-free zone.
Creative Citizens @ MLPL
Wednesday, April 8, 10:30 to noon.
In partnership with Creative Citizen Studios, this program is for adults with developmental disabilities (caregivers also welcome). Workshop participants will engage with a community of teaching artists, and one another, to explore their artistic talents and creativity. No experience necessary. Registration required. Space is limited.

Tarot: An Introduction. History, Symbolism and Practice

This three-part introductory Tarot series offers a foundational exploration of the Tarot through the lens of the Rider–Waite–Smith (also known as Smith–Waite) deck, one of the most influential and widely used Tarot systems today. Designed for beginners and curious practitioners alike, the course balances historical context, symbolic literacy and hands-on experience to cultivate both understanding and intuitive engagement.
